This warning only applies to Xinerama setups (one Screen (in the X sense)) 
across multiple monitors. So just calling it "multiple monitor setup" is wrong 
in at least some case. (I don't think that Plasma does support this case, 
though, which is I think one X server per physical display.

Also, I'm not sure about the (i) icon, shouldn't that be a warning, or 
something like that?

The layout (huge icon, small text underneath) also looks a bit non-standard to 
me. In KDialog, they're next to each other, no?

I agree that the warning could be improved, but the new implementation is IMO 
not a lot better, just exposes a different set of problems.

Maybe the term "Xinerama" should even be used in this message, as it makes 
finding a solution on the web a lot easier. Otherwise people would go "WTF, 
there's definitely two monitors attached!" and assume a bug in software, not 
the exact configuration difference this message is pointing at.

I know Aurelien has done some good work lately on error messages, maybe he 
could weigh in here (though it's a different usage scenario here).
