Strike that. It appears that currently only version ui=2 works and only when 
spoofing as firefox. Enabling chat doesn't seem to work, it keeps writing 
'connecting in  .. seconds', then attempt a connection and failing. I know 
however that chat used to work in an earlier version of gmail ui=1.
