yes, i get all that. my question is whether or not a Safari like UA work for 
gmail. if it does, that should be a preferred solution for a variety of 
reasons.

if a Safari UA with khtml doesn't work for gmail, then we shouldn't go that 
route. if it does, that'd be preferred imho over a FF UA.
