I think you've hit the nail on the head there - I couldn't quite
describe why I didn't quike like it, but I think that's it.

Perhaps, but I think it could be made to work..

Agreed.

This is the biggest for me.  Can we change it to have the same
background as the rest of the page?  This would make the biggest
immediate improvement.

Anyone able to make these changes and see what it looks like?  I can't
do it myself :(  I just changing the last two points would have a big
impact.
