to clarify for those who don't follow every heart beat of plasma devel (i 
know, i can hear you asking already, "what, not everyone does?!" ;): the 
traditional menu launcher is the simple menu app launcher ala the k menu in 
kde3's kicker.

as for the patch, it looks correct, yes and isn't overly harmful. but i 
wouldn't delay the tagging for it. if the tagging has happened or is in the 
process of i wouldn't worry about it; this can wait for 4.0.1 as it's a 
non-default component. it would indeed be *nice* to have it in 4.0.0 but 
nobody will die over it i don't think.

so .. yeah.. not a show stopper, whichever side of the tagging it falls on 
will be ok (though 4.0.0 would be a bonus)
