I think you got it wrong way :)

No one objected to improvements. No one said that this must be set in stone.
People just commented on screenshots they seen, gave their opinion about them.

I am surely voting for improvements :)
So keep it up and keep us posted. Take people's comments as a hint, not as 
some kind of denial of your great work (in progress) ;)

Any feedback is better than no feedback (if it is constructive).
