kconf_update scripts for data files

Hi,

I need to write the equivalent of a kconf_update script to update Kopete's 
contactlist to what will be the new format for KDE4. Can I write a 
kconf_update script like normal or is there something special I need to do in 
order to make sure the data gets updated? 

I'd prefer not to have to do this in Kopete itself, since we already have that 
for a previous data format change, and the code is pretty messy.
