It kind of breaks entirely in the absence of an X server, doesn't it? And last 
I tried (maybe Thibault can back me up on this) there were lots of mysterious 
hangs in the tests themselves on FreeBSD. It'd kill development / porting 
(not that there's a lot of that right now).
