that does answer my original question well. thank you.
i'm still unhappy about this breaking the API freeze. kconfig is a core part
of kdelibs and having things still being mucked around and changed at this
point, post-freeze is highly unusual. my push back is an attempt to respect
that freeze, something that is important to getting 4.0 ready to go and
something which those working on kconfig have shown little regard for (on the
plus side, kconfig has seen numerous improvements; it's not a zerio sum
game).
given that there are *no* users of this making it SC, i'm personally ok with
the change happening, but those of your working on kconfig really need to get
into release mentality here.
