Actually, by committing their own (disputed) version they have ignored 
the committee (i.e. "the other users on k-c-d"), so Thomas is speaking 
truly.

Sometimes telling the user what they really want is a good thing (the 
'yes it's more lines of code to use, too bad' arguments follow this 
principle). Is this one of those times? I don't think so.
