if that becomes an issue, we can always add that to, or even modify, the API.
it's a simple matter of blendAmount*255 in the method to make the difference.
so.. let's start to see use of the API sooner rather than later so we can
adapt the API to real application needs and uses =)
(that's really aside from the real issues that arose in that thread, which
unfortunately had the effect of constantly distracting from the issues of API
design for the blend functions. oh well. water under the bridge.)
