Hmm, I thought that bug looked familiar... ;)
The change certainly seems important enough due to the efficiency issue but I
think in the end it'll just come down to we need to release by date X, which
means we need to stabilize by date (X-Y).
But are you sure it requires implementing the created()/deleted() signals, as
this is a change larger than just adding kevent support so it would be harder
to ensure that it can be done without breaking/changing applications.
