Solving the colour scheme issues properly

I'm still unconvinced about having "foreground" and "background" roles 
for something that seems to be used more in a "middleground" role. 
Anyway, I just realized one problem with this also; does a text edit 
with focus and background != NormalBackground lose the otherwise 
background color? Similarly with text?

I think I still prefer keeping decoration() as-is, since it is aimed 
more at styles that have to play by somewhat different rules.
