That idea struck me a long time ago as well.
I'm not fully sure what Cornelius has in mind in particular when saying it's
unsuited for generating C++. Back when KDOM weren't superceeded by Webkit,
its generator for the C++ and Javascript bindings were written in XSL-T, in a
couple of hours.
I'd say it largely depends on what your source is and what steps you need to
do before outputting.
Aaron's suggestion of not potentially breaking what isn't broken is good, but
on the other hand KDE 4 development is a nice opportunity to simplify
implementations. Perhaps it all depends on how an XSL-T implementation of
kconfig_compiler would look.
Cheers,
Frans
