I'm that 'kde4 developer' Andriy talked about :)
I've described him a problem I have with kxkb, let me repeat it in short:

When I launch kxkb config module, there's a button there which allows a user to define a KDE shortcut for switching keyboard layouts (it's called "Alternate shortcut").

When I press it, and then press my desired shortcut it get's picked just ok (at least it is displayed on button).

But:
- If I hit "OK" or "Apply" and go to $KDEHOME/share/config/kglobalshortcutrc, I see
 "kxkb\x01Switch to Next Keyboard Layout=none"

So for some reason it isn't saved. And therefor it isn't picked by kxkb. And on a next kxkb's config module start it is again set to "None".

After looking into issue, Andriy said he fails to see what's wrong.
All is working just fine for him and he can't reproduce this.

Could some keyboard shortcut guru look into this?
Hamish?
Andreas?

I consider this even kind of showstopper - if user can't switch layouts using desired KDE shortcut (Xorg's modifier only ones work ok)

Cheers,
Dmitry.
