if the name is an issue, come up with a new name then. these are not betas;
that term is too soft and people keep dicking around with changes that
shouldn't be going on at this point. pedantically, they aren't rc's, though
as that's ussually the thing after beta .... they aren't gammas either.
so call them something else. but this close to release date, waffling back to
the term beta would be a very unwise move imh in terms of messaging to
developers.
