desktop file into applnk ? (kde4)

do these really need to be in the applnk/ or applications/ directories at all? 
does it make sense to instead just put them in services and use ksycoca to 
locate and load them? the screensaver apps are executable on their own, but i 
don't think it really make it necessary to put them in applications/ (or 
applnk/ for that matter)

i also see that we support a share/apps/scrsav/ directory. anyone know what 
the history behind that is? can support for it be dropped?

if moving the screensaver desktop files into services/ is palatable, i'm happy 
to make the necessary changes in the code.
