Rather the opposite. ;-)

IIRC KDE expects them to be somewhere in "applnk/System/Screensavers" (there 
and only there) which resulted in problems for me when trying to customize 
KDE 3.x ...
I could imagine that when moving towards xdg-menu compatibility you'll find 
yourself wanting to extend the desktop entry spec to better honor the needs 
of screensaver-.desktop files, but that's just a guess.
