I believe that it would be better inside kde than in the filesystem. There
are some files on my workstation that just change too much to make it worth
doing at a low level. In places where we are making backup files in kde
anyway, it would make sense.

Anyhow, if someone starts to implement this idea, let me know, I am happy to

To get started on this should we pull some of the rcs code into kdelibs (is
anything in there already?) or should we use the command line utilities
(this would probably be an issue for Windows).
