this is great news.
we'll still want a KDE-style API on top of this, probably with various
convenience methods specific to our needs. it can certainly target IMBUS in
behind the scenes.
however, unless IMBUS will cover all the platforms KDE supports (*Linux*,
*BSD, UNIX in various forms, Windows, MacOS ....) and we can rely on it not
only being here in 10 years but providing strong ABI promises i'd still
strongly suggest a KDE API that follows a similar approach to Solid/Phonon: a
good KDE-style API with the possibility for various backends. this gives us
platform independence and future-proofing.
