Yes, but they mostly address power users. Many less committed and less
interested users will never learn that such channels exist. A feedback
tool would be quite a good way to get in touch with them. Still, I'm not
completely convinced if it should pop up after 20 days. Got to discuss
that with others and review some literature on that topic. It might also
get annoying for those who frequently install new versions.

Well, if you ask the usability people to help you with formulating the
questions, they will also help you to analyse the data :)

Yes, that would be wonderful. But tracking that kind of data and
especially its analysis is even more tricky than asking for feedback.
People got crazy workarounds if they don't find an easy way to
accomplish a task. It's not trivial to separate this unproductive noise
from the productive options in a huge amount of statistical data!
