When I proposed this, I was thinking of avoiding more advanced features 
being added. Going back to my own example: expiry settings are a great 
idea. But we needn't bloat the code and the UI with options for every 
kind of flag a message can have (new, unread, read, replied, forwarded, 
important, to-do, etc.): anything beyond the standard options would be 
covered by scripts.
