Well, if we wanted the "best" as in "highest version" we wouldn't have done
this script actually. The reason we introduced this script was the fact that
newer autoconf versions broke KDE and we needed a measure to warn the
user. But probably these days are gone and we should just use "autoconf"
and let users care for their installation themselves (guided with docu + kdesvn-build :)
