KNewStuff server

Hi, 

I've been working on an educational app that will use KNewStuff. One
problem I and others working with KNewStuff have run into is that
there is no stable server to host KNewStuff data. My opinion is that
the KDE project itself should run a server apart from community-hosted
projects like kde-files.org. Is it possible for KDE to get a KNewStuff
server? Some projects now even use the www module in SVN to store
data. This isn't a good solution, and something else is needed. What
can be done?
