No. I don't think that's a good idea.
For people like you and me who have many devices of the same type, it may
make sense. For most people, I imagine, they don't have that multitude of
devices.
For another reason, the device name could be very long, especially for
people using devfs (I believe that's Gentoo's default as well). Such
would be my case:
scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part1 - Removable Device
For the screenshot case in the bug report, we'd see
scsi/host0/bu...
- Removable...
That is no good. If at all, this should be configurable. IMO, the device
*type* is more important.
For me, what's worse is that I have the same device mounted twice in
different mountpoints -- and kio_media doesn't let me tell one from the
other. Not that it matters much, though.
