Because I don't want to default to non-IPv6 behaviour. Either it's 
automatically detected, or it's enabled. Disabled is not an option for 
me.

To turn it off, in Linux systems, all you'd have to do would be add the 
following line to /etc/modprobe.conf (or /etc/modules.conf for Linux 
kernels < 2.6):

	alias net-pf-10 off

That's all. That turns all of IPv6 off.
