Sony Vaio support in kdelibs (Fwd: kvaio for TR3)

Hi folks,
a while ago I implemented Sony Vaio laptop support in kdeutils. It works quite
well, the implemented functionality is pretty much set. Unfortunately, things
evolve here, and, for example, new function keys are added which need to be
handled as events in the module and interfaced to the respective functional
libraries or tools.
Since I do not have access to a Sony laptop anymore, I cannot test this
changes and incorporate them into the CVS code.
Hence here is the question: Is somebody willing to take over to maintain the
Vaio code? The code should be quite understandable, and I will of course
support in any problems of understanding that might arise.
Best regards,
--Mirko.

Dear Mirko,
I've been doing some hacking of your code to get the function keys to
work on my Sony Vaio PCG-TR3A. Specifically I've hacked kvaio.cpp.
I have no experience in contributing to GPL code but I think the changes
I've made could be useful to someone with the same machine. It might
also be of use to others since I've added volume control that appeared
not to work in the version of the code I used (kdeutils-3.2.2).
On this page:
http://bionic.newcastle.edu.au/vaio.html
I explain what I've done (also there's a link to the hacked source
code). I'd be grateful for your advice on (a) the code, and (b)
implementing the changes for the future.
Kind regards,
Gregg Suaning
