Request for feature removal: "Double-sized pixels" in icons

As you can assume from my previous posting, you have my vote.

Wouldn't it be simple to "smooth-scale" icons to the requested size (until we 
have the new SVG engine), if it's not directly available, and have more sizes 
to select from ?
