Great. So KDE has been GNOMEfyed :-(

Why wasn't arts written in clean, tidy C++ with a clean, tidy C++ API from its 
inception, only providing a small C layer for the C losers?

Ok, I've just checked. It *is* written in C++, so I totally fail to understand 
why it resorts to that glib cruelty.
