Hm, apparently, Debian changed the gcc defaults in gcc-3.3 to make it
compile with -mieee unless otherwise specified ( --fast-math etc. ).
This means that this patch is not really useful for Debian anymore,
but it may still be useful for other alpha users out there..  Anyway,
it's up to the list to decide what to do with this patch then...
