Reason I asked:
I think aRts is necessary and I'm not for removing it, not in the least
because klicker presently depends on one of the very unique features of it.
I also understand why there is such a furor to deprecate it, I'm not very
happy with it either under most circumstances, it does nothing but cause
trouble.
I think KDE should always be able to use aRts, but I also think it should use
other sound frameworks as necessary. But that's dependent on aRts actually
being maintained. As it stands now is unacceptable.
I guess someone's gotta do it.
So. I make no promises. I have enough demands on my time already, and I've
already tried to find a niche in this project several times to no avail. But
no one else seems to want to do it, and if we want to keep it, something will
have to be done. So I'll go ahead and start trying to fix the grave bugs, and
we'll go from there.
