And we use in Quanta to get:
- - new language support
- - new toolbars
- - new documentation packages
- - new scripts
- - new templates
from a central download server.

KNewStuff is just a library name, use for whatever you want and (you
should) name your dialogs and put texts to make clear for the user what
can he/she do. It's somewhat similar to kdeaddons (extends an
application), just that usually the "stuff" that you can get this way
doesn't require compilation, so it's really a click & install for the
user.

I have an extension class in kdewebdev to add support for checking MD5
sum and signature of the downloaded items, just that I need some time
to work and integrate with knewstuff from kdelibs.
