Hi,

in KAddressBook I make intensive use of KAcceleratorManager to
add accelerators to the labels at runtime.

No I got this bug report and I'm unsure how to do it the right way...
Using KAcceleratorManager or hardcode accels into the strings?

Summary: Wrong accelerators specified in Info pages
           Product: kaddressbook
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Mandrake RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: tokoe at kde.org
        ReportedBy: fundawang at en2china.com

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1)
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs
OS: Linux

It seems that KAddressBook will try to use the first character of a label as the accelerators in contact editing mode. Say "R" for "Role:".

But this is no use in many foreign languages. Take Chinese as an example, we will translate "Role:" into "ABCD:", here character "A" cannot be found in keyboard.

It would be better assign accelerators directly in text, which means "&Role:".

Ciao,
Tobias
