p.s. If anyone does download and try the code - user fonts are installed to 
~/.fonts. You therefore, need to modify startkde. Change

kde_fontsdir=$kdehome/share/fonts

to:

kde_fontsdir=$HOME/.fonts


Also, there is a script in the archive called "mvkdefdir" that it is intended 
to be called from startkde to move any exisiting fonts from 
~/.kde/share/fonts to ~/.fonts -- although this script has not been 
extensively tested. (It to needs a slight modification, change 
"kdehome=/cygdrive/c/TEMP/fonts/.kde" to be "kdehome=$HOME/.kde - or whatever 
your KDE home is).
