inconsistent behaviour of kselectaction

Hi,

it seems that some users are confused by the behaviour
of KSelectAction (see bug #53860).
And at the first glance I would also expect, that the single
entries of the KSelectActions are 'checkboxes' instead of
'exclusive radiobuttons'.
Is there a way to replace the popup menu in KSelectAction with
a more intuitive widget? Any suggestion what widget to use?
