Well with the systray icon you can pop up the dialog before any job happens,
at which point it will indeed show those strings.

My gripe on the systray icon is that 
1) it takes room there even if you're not using kio jobs at all
2) it shows a floppy disk icon, which is pretty unclear what it's about (not that
I could think of any icon that would make it clear :)
3) most other KDE facilities are not being configured from a systray icon :)
They have a kcontrol module for that, or a builtin dialog from its menus etc.
