Actually its much closer than one would think.  I have toyed arround with it.  
QRichText is a great stepping stone to build a RTF style HTML editor.

The largest sticker that I have found is doing graphics in it.  I have some 
ideas but lack the time.  I would start there though.  The docs are pretty 
strait forward, and krichtextedit is pretty clean and can lead you in the 
right direction.
