it's not one person, it's the most requested feature for kdm.

i'm wondering, where you got that from. windoze (at least some of the
core applications like explorer) had session management looong before
kde; even before kde existed at all.
but the session management is not enough. or do you honstly expect every
single app to save 100% of it's state? remember, that this would include
text-mode applications run remotely, etc.  this is simply impossible.
