KDE 3.1 RC4, the final one (fingers crossed!)

Hi,
I've just finished creating the KDE 3.1 RC4 tarballs. The CVS tags
KDE_3_1_0_RELEASE / ARTS_1_1_0_RELEASE tags have been moved appropriately.
I suggest that we reserve one week for ensuring that there are no
embarrassing bugs left. If you committed a showstopper fix, please notify me
(use CCMAIL: or make it otherwise obvious that this should be included in
the release). I'll update the tarballs then and move the tags.
In case there are no updates required, then this is it. Many thanks to all
who contributed to the KDE Project in general and especially to the KDE 3.1
release. I think KDE 3.1 is a pretty good step over the last major release,
and it looks promising that it will be even more successful than KDE 3.0.
The future plans include (of course) a patch release named KDE 3.1.1
roughly 4 weeks after the KDE 3.1.0 announcement date, and a KDE 3.2 release
around early summer 2003.
PS: The CVS freeze is not yet over. You still must not change i18n strings,
and please hold back bigger code changes and new features, because it will
make possible CVS tag movings really difficult. The CVS freeze
will be opened when the CVS is branched, which is when 3.1 is
being announced. I'll notify you separately.
Many, many thanks to all involved,
Dirk
PPS: Don't forget to join the release party in #kde when KDE 3.1 is
announced ;-)
