That sounds like a good idea to me. 

Although I like crystal for it's eyecandyness and it could be usefull for 
presentations, I wouldn't want to use it for real work, which I normally do 
on my notebook.

If crystal is going to be the default though, I think the "Show desktop" icon 
should be redone/rethought. At the first moment I thought it's a new kwrite 
icon.
