i think one of the goals is to get rid of the amorphous "Look and Feel"

yes... but this doesn't mean we shouldn't restructure, we just need to do it 
"right" ...

this is indeed another part of the fallout: reflecting the changes in various 
application configuration dialogs as well ...

me neither... i'm estatic to see this getting worked on, but i also realize we 
really have only one chance to get this right and a set of looming deadlines.

i'd also like to point out that we are going to end up spending fairly large 
amounts of translation and documentation resources on this. let's not forget 
the people who are going to have to come in behind this effort to document 
and translate. our choices in this as developers have very real 
ripple-effects.
