Actually, I think you should make that example a bit more task oriented as
well: Suppose you want to play audio CDs and there was only a single brand
offering only a single model cd player, would you like that? I think having
choise is good.
I also think the way the choice is _presented_ in software, and especially for
most open source applications is extremely bad. Even Joe Enduser would like
choice if it was properly offered.
See my other reply with the screenshot to see what I am thinking of instead,
still offering choice.
