Dear KDE community,

with the increased interest in digital independence these past few
years, KDE has a unique opportunity to get our software into more public
institutions. I am working on finding ways to do that and want your help!

Join the new "*KDE For Digital Sovereignty*" team!

If you are a KDE enthusiast interested in *strategy*, *design*, *web
development*, *outreach*, *community work*, and more, be in touch:

  - Matrix room: #kde4digsov:kde.org
  - Email: joseph at kde.org

Initial work has been focused on Europe, but KDE is a global community
and this topic is relevant worldwide, so don't hesitate to get involved
wherever you are. Your enthusiasm and local knowledge will be invaluable
to making this initiative a success.

For the first steps, we are looking for:

  - KDE contributors *stepping up* to bring ideas and energy to the
table. Let's meet on meet.kde.org in the next weeks and brainstorm
together. Join the Matrix room #kde4digsov:kde.org to find a date and time.

  - KDE community members who have direct contact or experience with
public institutions in their community. What can you teach us? Can you
help us get a foot in the door in your area?

  - *Designers* and *web developers* to redesign and implement a
revamped KDE consultants page:
https://invent.kde.org/websites/ev-kde-org/-/work_items/8

  - Enthusiasts interested in *collecting info* about websites,
directories, and organizations that are promoting Free & Open Source
Software in the public sector:
https://invent.kde.org/teams/digital-sovereignty/public-administration/-/work_items/4

More general information can be found here:
https://invent.kde.org/teams/digital-sovereignty/public-administration/-/work_items/1

I look forward to hearing from you so together we can bring KDE's vision
closer to reality: "A world in which everyone has control over their
digital life and enjoys freedom and privacy."

Cheers,
Joseph
