Hello Wodsfort,
I believe the Google integration is mainly for users who wish to access
their Google Drive via Dolphin. I believe its also used for syncing
email and contacts with KMail and sharing videos to YouTube as well.
I remember seeing a thread on Discuss that Google frequently blocks the
sign in flow, so claiming the domain name with them and formally
registering as a project under Google Cloud may resolve this.
And I believe the partnership with Google is just a financial
contribution, however someone else may be able to correct me here.
