So it's the first time I'll attempt this with this University... so I can only
speculate.

It's not their first year through a computer science or software engineering
curriculum, so my expectation is that they know that difference. I hope they
also know the difference between the heap and the stack.

Probably not. That's why I think I'll give them a "training on the basics"
first if I can. But as mentioned, I'm unsure if it'll happen.

They should yes, otherwise they'd better move to another discipline at this
point. ;-)

Sorry that I can't be more precise than this for now. If it runs we'll know
better about the average skills a bit after the facts...
