As a general rule, brand new programs do not make for good GSOCs.

They stall after GSOC ends, and students don't get the real-world
experience of working in a team on a project.

I would also recommend being more conservative with your goals, so
that any pending mentors see them as realistic. A game engine in 3
months is very optimistic.
