Only if you know what's inside. I would not trust a "docker pull"
without knowing how the image is made.

You don't need the app, period. A web browser on a mobile suffices.

I meant a reply-by-mail interface, I know about the notifications.

Color me pessimistic. This hasn't happened with the forums, which still
run an old and dated phpBBB, and historically the community hasn't been
great at even attracting people doing web.
