Hi,
We've brought up a new anongit mirror in San Francisco, courtesy of
DigitalOcean.
For people close to the server, our GeoIP-backed DNS setup should
automatically let you make use of the server.
This brings the total number of public anongit servers to 2. Erised
serves NA, while Mason serves EU. We plan on adding a third in either
Singapore or Bangalore, depending on where DigitalOcean makes their
block storage system available first.
Given the wide base of KDE contributors from South America, we'd love
to set up a mirror there, but unfortunately DigitalOcean does not have
any assets in that area. If anyone would like to donate and operate a
server (an anongit mirror typically requires a gigabyte of RAM, and
approximately 100 GB of disk space, with about 1.5-2 TB transferred a
month), we'd be happy to set up a mirror.
