k d e or other desktops

Hello to anyone.
I am a totally blind computer user, and use orca with a distribution that has gnome and mate desktops.
No distribution of linux is perfect, but some are more workable than others.
I have questions about k d e.
Since the gnome and mate desktops are relatively accessible, what is it about k d e which some favor?
Because a blind user would use the keyboard, the screen-reading program with speech, or with Braille, would it matter which desktop one uses, if that desktop would be fully accessible?
Why is this desktop not ready for totally blind users?
