Is anybody intresting in clarifing things in kcontrol regarding to=20
Accessibility ?
Currently (HEAD), there's a group Regional and Accessibility and inside tha=
t=20
there's only one item related to Accessibility called, Accessibility. That=
=20
item contains two tabs to configure bell and keyboard.
That code was written by Matthias Hoelzer-Kluepfel and I think long time ag=
o=20
because it is like a port of KDE 1 KControl.
I think it would be a good idea to modernize it a bit and I would propouse =
the=20
following restructuration:
Break up the group into Regional as one group and Accessibility as another=
=20
group. The Accessbility group will contain: Bell and Keyboard (break that=20
tabs into two at least there are more things) and in a close feature Text T=
o=20
Speech (a.k.a.: Proklam).
Talking about the directory structure (in the HD), there's a directory call=
ed=20
Accessibilty and I think it's from and old structure as it contains a lot o=
f=20
things that are not really close to Accessibility (like keyboard layout=20
configuration and shortcuts configuration -yes, they have to be well made,=
=20
but the configuration of it is not really related to accessibility-). I wou=
ld=20
like to clean up that too.
I don't know if Matthias Hoelzer-Kluepfel is subscribed to this list, if=20
you're, please, feel free to post your coments about it. If he isn't, we=20
should invite him to participate in this and/or let us maintain that module=
s=20
in kcontrol.
I would like to know your comments and ideas about it to make a more or les=
s=20
formal 'petition' to kde-core-devel@kde.org about this changes from the KDE=
=20
Accessibility team. As I can work in AT-SPI by now (please, pray that I get=
 a=20
work of something in any way you pray if you do, so, I'll be able to have t=
he=20
resources) I won't have much problem in doing that work in kcontrol but if=
=20
someone volunteers to do it, or help, that we'll be prefectly ok.
